LEAF, recognized as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, is endorsed by all law enforcement agencies within Palm Beach County. Each spring, the Law Enforcement Assistance Foundation hosts an annual golf tournament to raise funds for injured Law Enforcement Officers, and for the families of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. This year, Tequesta Insurance Advisors proudly sponsored golf carts in LEAF’s 19th Annual LEAF Golf Classic, at Trump International Golf Club.

Insurance Advisors Walks to Defeat ALS!

Giving Back |

On March 22 of 2014, the team at Tequesta Insurance Advisors participated in an annual walk to defeat ALS at Okeeheelee Park, in West Palm Beach.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord, and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed. (Source: ALS Association)

The team at Tequesta Insurance Advisors walks to recognize a friend and colleague, Barbara Newhouse. Barb was diagnosed with ALS in January 2013. Barb has been an essential member of the Tequesta Insurance Advisors team for over 20 years. During this time, she has come to develop close friendships with not just her co-workers, but also the clients she has served for so many years. She is a true professional in the insurance industry and a star within our Agency.
