Charles “Punch” Martyn, III, founder and chairman of Tequesta Insurance Advisors, moved with his family to Palm Beach County in 1953. He and his family developed various communities in Martin and Palm Beach Counties, including the Yacht and Country Club of Stuart, Evergreen Country Club, Tequesta Country Club, Turtle Creek Club and Jupiter Inlet Colony. Not only did he and his family help put the Village of Tequesta on the map, his mother influenced the naming of the town when she became intrigued by the Native Americans who lived on the dune in Jupiter Inlet Colony, where his father built and lived in their first home.

Recognizing the incredible growth potential in northern Palm Beach County and the need for a professional, relationship-based insurance agency, Punch founded what is today named Tequesta Insurance Advisors.

Punch’s expertise in construction and real estate development provided him with a unique perspective in understanding what his clients needed in an insurance agency, especially when it came to high value coastal property. He chose to build an agency where clients have access to advisors by area of expertise, and the entire team would work collectively and collaboratively to serve the agency’s clients.

Over the years, the firm has remained focused on the philosophy Punch began and prides itself on being an organization large enough to offer a full array of products, while remaining small enough to provide personalized service to its clients.
